Beauty Trends That Will Take Off In 2022

The beauty industry has seen its fair share of trends over the past few years. From trends that come and go within a season (hello Kylie Jenners suction cup lip hack), to trends that get embedded in common beauty routines for years to come. Thankfully, this year is looking good with regards to the trending beauty practices and products, with the majority of them aligning with natural beauty and embracing the skin that we are in. Read on for The Modern Day Living Magazine’s take on beauty trends that are going to explode in 2022.

  • Hybrid Cosmetics/Skincare Products

Consumers in 2022 want more from their cosmetic products than what we have seen before. We expect to see a rise in foundations that double as skincare and provide lasting benefits such as brightening skin, hydration and reduction in fine lines. These hybrid products will take over the more traditional, one-dimensional products that we have used and loved in the past.

  • Less Is More

Dewy, natural, skinlike make-up looks are rising in popularity. We are seeing much less of the ‘cut crease’ full coverage looks and more of the glowing, dewy, painted on freckle vibe. In 2022 we will see more individuals embracing the skin they are in and using make-up to enhance their natural features, rather than cover them up.

  • Fluffy Brows

In line with the natural make-up on the rise, as is embracing our natural eyebrows. We are worlds away from the 90s over plucking look, with 2022 being all about the fluffy brows. Despite the look being a direct result of a brow lamination service, many go without the standard wax prior to this, thus celebrating the length of the natural brow hairs.

  • Innovative Bodycare

Similar to the hybrid cosmetic and skincare products, we are also going to see an increased demand for body care products that offer more than a pleasant scent and good ‘lather’ power. Que body products that treat all over body skin concerns such as ‘strawberry skin’ or products that promote ‘elasticity-boosting’ benefits.

  • Ditch The Heat

Heatless curled hairstyles have been taking over social media platforms in 2022 and this is not going to slow down. From rollers to using a robe tie to create bouncy, heatless waves – whichever method you opt for, this trend is second to none for curled hair. Not only does it protect your hair from the harms of heat tools, but it also creates Marylin Monroe worthy curls that are to die for.
