There’s A New Kid On The Block In The Ethical Furniture Space… Meet Melbourne Made Brand, DRIA HOUSE.

If you’ve been on the hunt for a new furniture brand to entertain your decor obsession, look no further. Introducing Dria House, a Melbourne made and owned furniture brand looking to make a mark in the ethical luxury furniture space.

Dria House is Founded by Melbourne-based architect Paige Carr, who when filling us in on the ‘why’ behind the brand, said “As an architect, I understand how imperative furniture can be for the final touch to any space. I design residential homes every day, and this is what inspired me to start DRIA. Constantly envisioning pieces to fill these spaces is how I leveraged (myself) into the furniture world.” Given Paige’s knowledgeable background in architecture, you can be absolutely certain that every design within her collection has been consciously created to enhance any space.

It was not only the aesthetic of Dria House that drew our attention here at The Modern Day Living Magazine; but the ethical and sustainable practices behind the brand that we love. Founder Paige, is beyond proud to be designing and manufacturing directly out of her home city, Melbourne, Commenting “We just don’t see having to wait 6+ months for furniture to arrive from overseas, practical. If you’re purchasing an item from us, you’ll want to be able to enjoy it as soon as possible.” Adding, “This also helps to improve the local/Australian economy, by creating more jobs for our manufacturers. By purchasing from a local business, the goods also do not have to be transported very far and therefore reduce the amount of resources required to get them to you. Our products are manufactured and then delivered directly, which is awesome for keeping our carbon footprint low.”

The first collection for Dria House, ‘Connect’, has just launched. Connect is a collection of pieces where interaction thrives, whether these be small intimate moments or bigger, more profound moments. The range consists of both living and bedroom furniture that evokes a sense of timelessness, style and consideration. In regards to her first collection, Paige mentions “Sometimes the final addition to a space can be something simple, yet sophisticated, and that is what our first collection encapsulates. Timeless styles blended with simple gestures of curves, are contrasted with terrazzo concrete pieces to form the collection.”
