Mothers on The TMDL Radar – Ellidy Pullin

Here at The Modern Day Living, we love filling our feed with mothers, whether they’ve been a mother for a while, are new mummas, or are soon to be mothers. We love using Instagram as a platform to relate to other mothers’ content, seek inspiration, and to grow. Therefore, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to share the Mothers on our radar, and this week we’re featuring the beautiful Ellidy Pullin (@ellidy_).

This is a very special article as Ellidy has an incredible story of a heartbreaking accident that has evolved into a bittersweet situation like no other. El’s partner, Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullen was a 32-year-old Winter Olympian and singer-songwriter who loved the outdoors and adventuring with his family and close friends. Tragically in July 2020 Alex went out diving in the Gold Coast and was later found in a shallow artificial reef, unresponsive. Flash forward to 15 months later, El welcomed their baby girl into the world.

El took to her Instagram at the time stating that “When my love had his accident, we all held onto hope that I’d be pregnant that month. We’d been trying for a baby. IVF was on our cards but it wasn’t something I ever imagined I’d be tackling on my own. Bittersweet like none other, I’ve never been more certain or excited about anything in my entire life.”

Named after her father, Minnie Alex Pullen is now El’s life partner and the bond that they will forever hold will be one like no other. El’s Instagram account shares snippets of their life together and includes a note that El has written to her baby girl.

“Your dad is a warrior. He is absolutely beyond this world. He will be teaching you and guiding you. I may be the portal for which you learn from him,” she continued. “We need each other. Chump is taking us for a ride! An adventure. Truly magical.”

“This was part of his soul contract. You and me baby, we live for him, through him, with him. Love Mum,” she concluded the letter.

Here at The Modern Day Living, we have shed tears, felt waves of overwhelming joy and had moments of reflection that in this life, nothing is guaranteed. We love following along El’s journey and are sure that all of our readers will walk away a better person after reading the raw, emotional and incredible words that El shares on her page.
